Next up in my series on low-waste options for those of us who can't always find everything (or, maybe, anything) we need nearby in bulk, I wanted to share a guide put together by my friend Kathryn at Going Zero Waste (who also made this sweet illustration at top). In it, she breaks down how to think about shopping for groceries in a sustainable way when bulk options aren't available. Like, can you make it or grow it yourself? Can you buy it in returnable packaging? How about glass or cardboard? I think it's such a helpful resource for how to think about making lower-waste choices when zero waste may not be doable. If you'd like, you can take a look at the guide here. Ever onward and upward, friends!
